C.A.R.E. Foundation
"When the last individual of a race of living things breathes no more,
another Heaven and another Earth must pass before such a one can be again."
- William Beebe, American Naturalist

I have been working in conjunction with wildlife preservation organizations for eight years now - my association with this particular form of endeavor began with Christin Burford, Founder of the "C.A.R.E. Foundation" located in Christmas, Florida.

A few months ago, Christin informed me that it was her intent to rescue a Siberian Tiger named “Saber” from unhealthy conditions and the possibility of being sold at auction (where his fate could very well end up being a ‘canned hunt’ which is certain death.) Hearing this I was inspired to help her raise the funds necessary to build the proper sized enclosure needed to house “Saber” to insure him a better quality of life. Once built, he could then be moved to the C.A.R.E. Foundation, where he would receive the proper attention and support needed to insure this “better life.”

As with any cause you need a symbol to focus attention, so I decided upon the image shown in this step by step presentation as that focal point needed to make others aware of Saber's plight, and to later serve as a donation for fund raising purposes.

Subsequently when I mentioned this situation to other Airbrush Artists online who have similar feelings with regard to wildlife, the word spread... The ensuing response was both inspiring and heart warming! Through the efforts of these friends, and in turn their friends, the funds required were raised and Saber was rescued as well as a Black Leopard named “Elvira.”

In consideration of these events (and inspirations) - I thought this step by step display of creating the image representative of a now content cat would be an appropriate subject for this presentation

So this then is “Saber”
